First Jay Z, then Lady Gaga\u2014and now the grandmama of performance art, Marina Abramovi\u0107 has stepped up to brighter pastures, making a short film \/ commercial with Adidas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apparently, the three-minute short restages Abramovi\u0107\u2019s \u201cWork\/Relation\u201d (1978) \u201cthrough the lens of the 2014 FIFA World Cup\u201d. The original work had Abramovi\u0107 and Ulay, her partner, carrying stones back and forth in metal buckets. The Adidas video showed eleven people (a soccer team normally fields eleven players) carrying the stones in different ways\u2014each with a bucket, two sharing buckets, or in a chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
