{"id":20500,"date":"2014-07-22T07:22:00","date_gmt":"2014-07-22T07:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.randian.art\/?p=20500"},"modified":"2024-01-12T07:24:39","modified_gmt":"2024-01-12T07:24:39","slug":"damien-hirst-wants-to-destroy-early-spot-painting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.randian.art\/zh-hant\/damien-hirst-wants-to-destroy-early-spot-painting\/","title":{"rendered":"Damien Hirst Wants to Destroy Early Spot Painting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Daily Telegraph&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/culture\/art\/10963754\/Spot-of-bother-over-Damien-Hirst-wall-art-painting.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>reports<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;that Damien Hirst wants to destroy an early wall-painted spot painting and also wants to block the sale. \u201cBombay Mix\u201d was painted by Hirst on a wall in a London apartment owned by Jamie Ritblat. The apartment changed hands, and then in 2007, the owner Jess Simpson took the painting off the wall and mounted it, hoping to sell it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hirst\u2019s company, Science Ltd, states that Hirst has the right of ownership of \u201cBombay Mix\u201d because Science Ltd. holds the original certificate of authenticity\u2014without this certificate, this painting supposedly has no value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.randian-online.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/bombay-mix_2972901b.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.randian-online.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/bombay-mix_2972901b.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-46101\" title=\"PX*5259550\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Certificate of authenticity for \u201cBombay Mix\u201d.<br>\u300aBombay Mix\u300b\u8ba4\u8bc1\u4e66\u3002<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/entertainment-arts-28291036\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>BBC<\/strong><\/a>, Simpson had contacted Sotheby\u2019s and Christie\u2019s, but perhaps because the auction houses did not want to damage their relationships with Hirst and his company, they refused to accept the piece for auction.
